Amber and Michael James Knapp both share a love of music and this love has extended to their children, Michael J Knapp, Jr and Kim Rose. Although the children are still young, Kim Rose is currently learning how to play the clarinet and Michael James Knapp, Jr is learning to play the tuba.

Michael James Knapp and his wife, Amber, agree that education is important for their two children, Michael James Knapp, Jr and Kim Rose. Although the children are still young, the couple has agreed to homeschool them.

Homeschooling isn't for everyone, but Amber and Michael James Knapp choose a specific curriculum to keep their children well-rounded. The couple spends time each day on math, reading, science, music and even cooking lessons. 

Even though Kim Rose is only 3, she already knows each letter in the alphabet and what sound the letter makes. Michael James Knapp, Jr is reading short books and doing easy multiplication math problems. Simple, everyday tasks become learning opportunities when a family homeschools like the Michael J. Knapp family. A trip to the grocery store becomes a math lesson where the children can count apples, bananas and other grocery items. Amber makes a game out of each trip and encourages the children to add up the total and guess what it is before the cashier rings everything up.

The family also takes multi-cultural dance lessons as a group and the children plan to perform in front of spectators when the family goes on their yearly trip across the country during the summer.

As the children grow older, Amber and Michael James Knapp plan to expand their curriculum with formal education with their local homeschooling group. Kim and Michael Jr will take part in formal music lessons and physical education.
